Fresh Squash and Onion

2 lb Squash; yellow
1 md Onion; finely chopped
1/2 ts Salt;
ds Sugar;*
1/2 c Water
2 tb Butter (or marg.); melted

* Use your favorite sugar substitute Wash squash and cut into 1-1/2" slices. Place in saucepan with onion, salt, and sugar; add 1/2 cup water. Cover tightly and steam about 10 minutes. Add butter and stir gently.
